A hospitality operation in Western Australia is recruiting a Cook with proven commercial kitchen experience, sound practical skills and a dependable professional approach.
The role offers broad responsibility across the kitchen, spanning ingredient preparation, cooking, plating, stock handling and the upkeep of a clean, efficient workspace. Working alongside an experienced culinary team, you will strengthen your skills in an environment that values consistency, teamwork and attention to detail.
The operation is predominantly lunch-focused, leaving most evenings free. Weekend and public holiday availability is expected, and occasional functions may require additional availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor kitchen stock levels and contribute to inventory control
- Receive, label, store and rotate food products correctly
- Prepare ingredients and food items to support daily operations
- Cook menu items using suitable commercial kitchen equipment
- Coordinate preparation and cooking to keep service efficient
- Maintain consistent food quality and presentation, including assisting with plating of completed dishes
- Contribute to group meal preparation as required
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, especially during busy and high-pressure service periods
- Implement practical measures that minimise food waste
- Uphold an orderly, hygienic, well-presented kitchen in line with food safety and workplace hygiene requirements
- Complete opening and closing procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in commercial cooking
- Practical command of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Capacity to evidence genuine and verifiable work experience
- Confidence working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
- Ability to sustain quality and efficiency when under pressure
- Strong organisational capability and attention to detail
- A dependable, consistent approach to workplace responsibilities and a positive, professional attitude
- Effective collaboration within a team
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays, with availability for occasional functions when required
- Ability to satisfy relevant sponsorship requirements where applicable
