Selection looks beyond qualifications and years on a CV to reliability, practical ability and authentic interest in Italian cuisine. The role offers hands-on exposure to traditional Italian preparation, pasta and sauce techniques alongside an experienced culinary team, laying a foundation for future progression in Australian hospitality.

Entry-level and experienced cooks from India and other countries may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Italian cuisine: produce Italian dishes to the standard the kitchen sets, supporting the team on pasta, sauces and classic Italian preparation
Preparation: handle mise en place and each day's prep work
Quality: deliver dishes with consistent taste, quality and presentation by working to recipes, set cooking procedures and direction from senior chefs
Service: keep pace when service is busy and step in to help fellow kitchen staff whenever needed
Hygiene and safety: run a tidy, hygienic, well-organised station in line with food safety and workplace health and safety rules
Professional development: welcome feedback and put newly learned techniques and procedures into practice
Professional conduct: bring dependability, professionalism and positivity to every shift, adding to a respectful and productive kitchen

Requirements & Eligibility

Culinary interest: a demonstrated interest in, or experience with, commercial cooking, together with genuine enthusiasm for Italian cuisine
Work ethic: dependable and consistent, with strong work ethic and readiness to own your responsibilities
Learning ability: takes direction well and learns from experienced chefs, bringing hands-on kitchen skills suited to your level of experience
Background: prior work in hospitality or a kitchen is advantageous
Collaboration: works well in a team and communicates clearly
Career outlook: keen to develop professionally in the Australian hospitality industry; entry-level through to experienced applicants may be considered
Verification: can supply genuine, checkable information about employment or skills where required
