Chef

Hospitality · Tahmoor, Sydney NSW, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr

For an experienced Chef, the right move is a role where practical skill and composure under pressure are recognised and put to good use, rather than simply another kitchen job.

A busy hospitality venue in New South Wales is recruiting a Chef with genuine hands-on experience across multiple sections who can maintain food quality throughout demanding services. You would work within a professional team in a modern, purpose-built kitchen, on a menu that blends long-standing favourites with fresh, seasonal dishes.

Candidates who bring proven culinary capability and strong work habits can become a dependable part of a growing kitchen operation and develop their career alongside it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute practical ideas for new dishes and menu improvements
  • Prepare and organise ingredients, equipment and stations for each service
  • Cook across the grill, pans, fryers and larder sections and manage them
  • Deliver consistent food quality, portion sizes and presentation
  • Produce classic dishes and seasonal specials to the kitchen's standards
  • Adapt meals where appropriate for customer dietary requirements
  • Assess ingredient quality and freshness and verify storage conditions
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with supply orders and apply effective stock rotation and waste minimisation
  • Uphold kitchen cleanliness and organisation alongside food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
  • Perform efficiently during high-volume, time-critical services
  • Communicate effectively with fellow chefs and kitchen team members
  • Support seamless kitchen operations across a seven-day trading schedule

  • Proven professional experience as a Chef, including hands-on work across grill, pans, fryers and larder
  • Ability to demonstrate genuine, verifiable culinary work experience
  • Strong practical understanding of professional kitchen operations and of stock management and waste minimisation
  • Ability to sustain quality and consistency through busy services, with strong attention to food quality and presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures, and a current Food Safety Certificate
  • Capacity to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
  • A positive and reliable approach to workplace responsibilities
  • Willingness to work day, evening and weekend shifts
  • Commitment to full-time employment for the required period
  • Sponsorship consideration is available for exceptional candidates after six months of full-time employment
