This Chef de Partie opportunity gives a skilled chef the chance to take ownership of a kitchen section within a busy and professional team in South Australia.
You will be responsible for an allocated section and for producing high-quality restaurant dishes from a menu built around premium steaks, ribs, grilled meats, burgers, pizzas and freshly prepared accompaniments.
The role suits a motivated chef who is capable of working independently while contributing positively to a strong team environment, and it offers valuable section-level experience for longer-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of an assigned station, handling ingredient prep and the daily mise en place
- Deliver dishes that meet the kitchen's established quality benchmarks, with uniform flavour, portioning and plating
- Produce the signature range of steaks, ribs and grilled meats as well as burgers, pizzas, sauces, sides and other menu items
- Track cooking processes and temperatures throughout service
- Comply with food safety, hygiene and HACCP protocols
- Contribute to stock rotation and inventory control, including the correct receipt and storage of food and kitchen supplies
- Find practical ways to lower food wastage
- Keep every workstation clean, orderly and prepared for service
- Mentor junior kitchen staff where needed and maintain clear communication with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Help develop new menu items and daily specials
Requirements & Eligibility
- A background as a Chef de Partie, Chef or in a comparable role, including a minimum 1 year of relevant commercial kitchen experience
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification
- Strong, versatile cooking skills that cover multiple kitchen sections
- Grill and meat preparation experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of HACCP together with commercial kitchen safety requirements
- Capacity to deliver consistently through busy service periods
- A strong eye for detail
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work a rotating hospitality roster
- Ability to satisfy visa sponsorship requirements where applicable
