Chef de Partie

Working within an experienced culinary team, you will produce high-quality dishes across a variety of dining styles in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, supporting daily operations and upholding exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation. Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to menu preparation and the implementation of seasonal menus, as well as catering, functions and special events as required
  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes that meet established recipes and standards, with consistent quality, presentation and portion control
  • Assist with food preparation and daily kitchen operations
  • Uphold food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards and follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
  • Monitor food quality and minimise waste in the kitchen
  • Perform efficiently during busy service while meeting deadlines
  • Support stock rotation and inventory control
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house colleagues

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Level 4 Cookery qualification or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of commercial kitchen experience
  • Prior experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar capacity
  • Experience in hotel, function or high-volume kitchens is advantageous
  • A background in à la carte, fusion or Asian cuisine is an advantage
  • Strong passion for producing high-quality food, and a positive attitude with flexibility to work various shifts
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Capacity to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting
  • Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Willingness to relocate to Southland, New Zealand
