The fully equipped commercial kitchen features a wood-fire grill, and you will have input into weekly specials and seasonal menus. Key Responsibilities
- Cooking and quality: prepare a variety of high-quality bistro dishes, monitor them through preparation and service, and maintain consistent quality and presentation
- Menu input: contribute creative ideas to weekly specials and menu offerings, and assist with menu planning and development
- Planning and purchasing: estimate food and labour requirements, and order and monitor food and kitchen supplies
- Collaboration: work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to keep service smooth, and support colleagues during busy periods
- Technical guidance and training: advise on cooking techniques and preparation procedures, and assist with training and developing kitchen team members when required
- Hygiene and compliance: uphold strict food hygiene and safety standards and ensure kitchen practices meet relevant hygiene regulations
- Kitchen standards: keep the kitchen organised, clean and efficient
- Food storage: assist with preservation, freezing and storage where required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience: minimum 1 year of relevant commercial kitchen or Chef experience, including practical preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen
- Strong grasp of food preparation, presentation and quality control
- Sound knowledge of food safety and commercial kitchen hygiene standards
- Capacity to work efficiently in a busy hospitality setting
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- A reliable, motivated character, willing to take responsibility
- Creativity in food preparation and weekly specials
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- A positive outlook on teamwork and continuous improvement
