Joining a compact and experienced kitchen brigade, you will help deliver European and modern Australian cuisine at a consistently high standard. The role is strongly hands-on: you will contribute across kitchen operations and take confident ownership of an allocated section during service, a valuable step for chefs focused on long-term progression.
The emphasis is on genuine skills, verified experience and proven workplace capability rather than visa sponsorship alone.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness and workplace safety standards at all times
- Oversee and operate an assigned kitchen section throughout service
- Prepare and cook European dishes to a high standard
- Produce modern Australian dishes to the same high standard
- Carry out daily food preparation efficiently and with accuracy
- Ensure presentation, portion control and food quality remain consistent
- Collaborate closely within a four-person kitchen team
- Contribute to smooth kitchen operations through busy services
- Monitor stock levels and ingredient usage to help reduce food wastage
- Adhere to established recipes, preparation methods and kitchen standards
- Support other kitchen sections when operational needs require it
- Help deliver efficient services across evening, weekend and split-shift rosters
- Demonstrate consistent, reliable hands-on performance in a professional kitchen environment
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher, being a relevant trade qualification in Commercial Cookery
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in modern Australian or European cuisine, plus demonstrated experience in a fine-dining or quality-focused commercial kitchen
- Chef de Partie or section-level experience is highly regarded
- Comprehensive cooking and food preparation capabilities
- Capacity to manage an allocated kitchen section independently
- Proven capacity to uphold food quality while controlling wastage
- Thorough working knowledge of hygiene, food safety and kitchen procedures
- Ability to perform well as one of a small, professional kitchen team
- Availability to work evening, weekend and split-shift rosters
- Your qualifications and work history must be genuine and open to verification; the right candidate can be offered visa sponsorship
