Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to advance your culinary skills
  • Produce high-quality dishes in line with established recipes and standards
  • Run assigned kitchen sections efficiently through preparation and service
  • Deliver consistent food quality, portion control and presentation
  • Complete ingredient preparation and daily mise en place
  • Rotate across restaurant, pub, grill and wood-fired cooking sections as required
  • Ensure every plate leaving the pass meets expected quality standards
  • Maintain a tidy, organised workstation and comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
  • Perform effectively through peak and high-volume service periods
  • Support kitchen colleagues and communicate effectively with chefs and other staff for smooth service
  • Help uphold quality standards across all kitchen operations
  • Contribute to a respectful, dependable and team-oriented workplace culture

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Recognised culinary qualification and/or substantial practical experience
  • Relevant experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen position
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques
  • Experience working efficiently in a busy professional kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Grill or wood-fired cooking experience is desirable but not essential
  • Strong organisation and time management capability
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a professional kitchen brigade
  • Reliable, motivated and dedicated to continuous professional development
  • Suitable candidates must meet relevant Australian employer sponsorship and visa requirements
