Key Responsibilities

Execute meal preparation and cooking according to menu specifications and established standards
Uphold quality, consistency, portion control and presentation for every dish
Carry out ingredient preparation and mise en place before and throughout service
Organise cooking tasks efficiently to meet the demands of service
Contribute to an organised workflow by collaborating with the kitchen team
Assist senior kitchen staff with day-to-day operations and service
Monitor ingredients and flag stock shortages or requirements
Keep preparation and cooking areas clean, hygienic and orderly while adhering to food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
Ensure food is stored properly and handled appropriately
Address customer requests regarding meals and preparation professionally, and support general kitchen duties for efficient service

Requirements & Eligibility

Minimum 1–2 years of commercial cooking experience gained in a busy hospitality, restaurant or pub-style kitchen environment
Capability to produce a range of meals consistently and efficiently, following recipes, kitchen procedures and instructions accurately
Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices
Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks during service, a reliable work ethic, a positive, team-focused attitude and clear communication with kitchen colleagues
Food safety certification is advantageous
Availability to cover flexible shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays included
