Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistency in taste, quality, portion sizes and presentation across every service
  • Produce dishes to established quality and presentation standards, applying recipes, cooking methods and operational procedures
  • Complete daily preparation and mise en place according to service requirements
  • Handle kitchen tasks efficiently in peak service and adjust to changing requirements and priorities
  • Collaborate with the kitchen brigade and assist senior chefs and other staff when required
  • Adhere to food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
  • Maintain clean, organised preparation areas, equipment and workstations
  • Inspect ingredient quality and assist with appropriate food storage
  • Support stock rotation, minimise unnecessary food waste and help maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Contribute to a positive, professional and team-focused workplace

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Hands-on understanding of food preparation and commercial cooking methods
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience in a relevant setting
  • Demonstrated capability to perform confidently in a professional kitchen
  • Qualifications and employment history that are relevant and verifiable
  • Dedication to food quality, hygiene and presentation
  • Capacity to remain organised and productive under pressure
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dependable attendance and a strong professional work ethic
  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays
  • Must currently be based in Sydney
  • Must satisfy applicable Australian immigration and sponsorship requirements, with sponsorship available for the successful eligible candidate
