Working closely with site maintenance teams, you will draw on diagnostics, fault-finding and Caterpillar expertise to identify issues, recommend solutions and help refine maintenance practices, with the balance between advisory and hands-on support depending on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a specialist technical adviser to site maintenance personnel
- Carry out fault diagnosis on Caterpillar heavy mobile fleets
- Analyse equipment performance issues and determine suitable corrective actions
- Conduct equipment inspections to identify emerging reliability risks
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of preventative maintenance
- Support planned maintenance activities and component change-outs
- Deliver technical assistance on warranty-related matters
- Minimise downtime through targeted fault-finding
- Evaluate machine condition and recommend improvements to maintenance
- Provide technical input to fleet optimisation and pursue opportunities to improve reliability, availability and operating efficiency
- Take part in continuous improvement initiatives at customer operations
- Offer hands-on technical support as operational needs dictate
- Maintain clear, accurate service and technical documentation
- Facilitate technical training and knowledge transfer while developing strong relationships with customers and site-based teams
- Work to site safety requirements, procedures and environmental standards within FIFO rosters and extended shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Mobile Plant Trade Certificate or equivalent international qualification
- Demonstrated background maintaining heavy mobile plant equipment
- Prior experience in mining, field service or large-scale equipment maintenance
- Strong practical Caterpillar machinery experience, which is highly regarded
- Advanced capability in diagnostics and fault-finding
- Capacity to analyse equipment problems and recommend effective solutions
- Sound understanding of equipment reliability principles and preventative maintenance
- Ability to balance technical advisory responsibilities with hands-on work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, applied with professionalism in customer and stakeholder relationships
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Willingness to work FIFO rosters and 12-hour shifts, with commitment to safety and compliance in remote mining environments
- High-risk work licences such as Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging or Working at Heights are advantageous
