Cafe Duty Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Provide welcoming, professional service to every customer
- Handle sales and payments through the till
- Prepare high-quality coffee and other drinks
- Heat and serve food items promptly
- Respond to customer enquiries about products and the menu
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene and keep service and work areas organised
- Restock shelves, displays and cafe supplies
- Prepare and pack coffee products when required
- Contribute to opening, closing and general cafe operations
- Support colleagues through busy trading periods while following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements
- Represent the business professionally in all customer interactions
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous cafe, hospitality or customer service experience is preferred
- Practical barista skills are a strong advantage
- Demonstrated ability to deliver dependable, consistent customer service
- Clear communication skills and a professional manner, supported by good personal presentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and confidence to complete tasks independently when required
- A positive attitude and willingness to take on new responsibilities
- Strong work ethic, reliability and professional integrity
- Ability to perform in a busy customer-facing environment
- Availability to work both weekend days or at least one Sunday
- Must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment and visa requirements; candidates requiring employer-supported sponsorship may be considered
