Breeder Farm Manager

A leading poultry breeding operation in NSW wants an experienced Breeder Farm Manager with a strong production track record who can own flock performance, people management and daily farm operations.

Success here rests on disciplined husbandry, accurate monitoring, effective biosecurity and capable team leadership. You will apply practical experience to keep breeder stock healthy, meet production targets and identify where farm performance can be improved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive gains in productivity, efficiency and consistency across the site
  • Direct how the breeder farm runs each day and how it performs overall
  • Coordinate flock work in keeping with set production procedures
  • Track bird health, flock results and key production measures
  • Use proven husbandry methods to sustain top-quality breeder birds
  • Enforce strict biosecurity, hygiene and disease-control practices
  • Make sure welfare obligations for the animals are met at all times
  • Build, guide and oversee the farm workforce, deciding who does what and coordinating each day's activities
  • Diagnose production problems and put corrective measures into action
  • Keep farm records and documents precise, and compile reports on flock results and site operations
  • Partner with senior leadership to achieve agreed production goals
  • Champion accountability, teamwork and a continuous-improvement mindset

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in poultry production
  • A background managing or supervising poultry farm operations, which you can demonstrate
  • In-depth practical knowledge of breeder poultry production, plus a sound grasp of husbandry and flock management
  • Familiarity with animal health, disease prevention and biosecurity, along with welfare standards and industry requirements
  • Proven capability to lead, supervise and develop farm staff
  • Well-developed planning, organisation and time-management capabilities
  • Capacity to interpret production data and recognise where performance is slipping
  • Clear communication and reporting capabilities
  • A track record of resolving hands-on farm problems, with a proactive drive to lift output
  • Commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity and quality standards
  • Capacity to evidence and verify relevant employment experience and technical capabilities
  • Willingness to relocate to NSW
