Boilermaker – Structural Steel

Working from drawings and established specifications, you will handle structural steel fabrication and welding to a quality standard, safely and efficiently. The position comes with an immediate start, consistent weekday hours and potential for ongoing work based on performance and project requirements, a useful step for skilled workers from India and elsewhere.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver structural steel fabrication and assembly that supports efficient project completion
Interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans to measure, mark, cut and prepare steel components
Fit and assemble fabricated sections precisely, applying MIG welding to project and quality specifications
Inspect welds and completed components to confirm quality and accuracy
Handle workshop and fabrication tools with correct, safe technique
Adhere to project specifications, workplace procedures and safety requirements, maintaining appropriate PPE and safe work practices
Collaborate effectively with other trades and project personnel
Maintain a clean, organised, hazard-free work area and promptly escalate safety concerns, defects or material issues
Achieve required production schedules and project deadlines

Requirements & Eligibility

Demonstrated structural steel fabrication experience, underpinned by a recognised trade qualification as a Boilermaker, Fitter, Cert III Engineering & Fabrication or related discipline
Strong MIG welding capability
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
A current White Card
Your own tools and appropriate PPE
A strong focus on workmanship, accuracy and safety
Capacity to work independently while contributing effectively to a team, with reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
An EWP ticket would be advantageous
Working at Heights certification would be advantageous
A Forklift licence would be advantageous
Availability to commence immediately and work Monday-to-Friday shifts
