Unlike FIFO assignments, this role keeps you working locally on ongoing fabrication projects. You will be part of a practical, safety-conscious team offering reliable hours, weekday roster options and opportunities for further development.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret technical drawings, measurements and specifications to fabricate and assemble steel components to project requirements
Perform welding and boilermaking across a variety of workshop projects
Prepare materials by cutting, drilling, grinding and similar fabrication processes, operating the relevant workshop equipment and machinery
Apply quality checks throughout fabrication and resolve issues as they arise
Collaborate safely with other trades and workshop personnel in line with workplace health and safety requirements
Keep tools, equipment and work areas in suitable condition
Foster a positive, productive team environment

Requirements & Eligibility

Recognised trade qualification in Boilermaking, Welding or Fabrication, supported by verifiable trade qualifications and relevant employment history
Relevant hands-on workshop experience
Demonstrated steel fabrication and welding skills, with the ability to understand technical drawings and measurements
Strong focus on safety and quality
Effective communication and teamwork, plus a dependable approach to attendance and assigned work
Overseas candidates may be considered where sponsorship and visa requirements are met
