Boilermaker

For Boilermakers ready to grow their careers in heavy industry, this role with an established industrial operation in Queensland offers work across both workshop and remote-site settings.
The employer is looking past paper credentials: candidates should be able to back their trade background with genuine hands-on fabrication and heavy-industry experience.
Central to the position are practical welding and fabrication capability, a clear grasp of quality requirements and the ability to operate safely and efficiently around heavy equipment and on industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver consistent quality assurance standards and verify completed work against customer specifications and quality requirements
- Perform steel fabrication and boilermaking tasks using suitable tools and equipment
- Prepare steel sections and plates by cutting, bending and shaping them
- Undertake welding and fabrication to job specifications
- Liaise with the leading hand and fabrication team across production and site work
- Apply safe work practices and established workplace procedures
- Operate effectively both autonomously and within a team
- Mentor apprentices by demonstrating practical trade techniques and work methods
- Complete line boring work where required
- Adapt to the differing requirements of workshop and remote-site work
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Boilermaking trade qualification or equivalent overseas qualification, supported by evidence of trade qualifications and relevant work experience
- Proven practical experience in boilermaking and steel fabrication
- Industry exposure across manufacturing, mining or heavy industrial environments
- Demonstrated welding and metal fabrication capability
- Previous line boring experience is highly regarded
- Strong grasp of quality and safety requirements in the workplace
- Capacity to work Monday to Saturday plus occasional overtime
- Openness to remote-site assignments as required
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and pass drug and alcohol screening
- Overseas candidates who hold relevant qualifications and can verify their industry experience are encouraged to apply
