The kitchen runs a busy dining operation centred on traditional Italian and Roman cuisine, fresh handmade pasta and carefully selected local and international produce. Working with experienced chefs, you will be expected to bring consistency, discipline and pride to each service while continuing to develop your culinary capabilities.
The position suits professionals with a proven background in quality-driven restaurant or hotel kitchens, including chefs from India and elsewhere who are ready to apply their skills in an Australian hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to handmade pasta production and the preparation of fresh ingredients
- Execute traditional Italian and Roman-style dishes
- Apply classical culinary techniques to prepare and cook a range of menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Deliver consistent quality and presentation across every service, including correct portion sizes
- Complete mise en place efficiently in advance of service
- Monitor food quality at each stage of preparation and service
- Support daily lunch and dinner operations in the kitchen
- Maintain efficiency during high-volume and busy service periods
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures while maintaining a clean, organised, professional workstation
- Assist with stock preparation and overall kitchen organisation
- Communicate effectively with chefs and colleagues, contributing to a positive and professional team culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the capacity of a Qualified Chef
- Holder of a relevant culinary qualification or a recognised trade certificate
- Demonstrated background in quality-focused restaurant or hotel kitchens
- Strong practical expertise in cooking and food preparation
- Proven capability to produce dishes consistently to professional standards
- Sound understanding of classical cooking techniques
- A genuine passion for traditional cooking methods and Italian cuisine
- Capacity to perform effectively within a high-volume kitchen
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Good organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- A reliable, professional work ethic
- Willingness to learn and progress within an experienced culinary team
- Availability for scheduled lunch and dinner services
